ABOUT THE EXPERIANCE This July, young artists will spend four weeks creating a luminous artwork that blends the elegance of Kerala Mural Art with the jewel-like detailing of cloisonné-inspired techniques. Designed as a featured summer project for ages 8+, this series introduces students to traditional art forms while encouraging experimentation with texture, shimmer, and layered finishing techniques. Students will work step by step through transferring and understanding the composition, building bold color areas, outlining decorative sections, and creating dimension through layered application and fine details. As the project develops over four sessions, artists will gradually transform the surface into a vibrant finished piece inspired by traditional Indian storytelling and ornamentation. Special finishes including glitter accents and a glossy resin top coat will be introduced to create depth, richness, and a glass-like final appearance that enhances the colors and decorative outlines. Each week is designed to focus on a different stage of the artwork, allowing students time to develop patience, craftsmanship, and confidence while creating something truly display worthy. All materials are provided. No prior drawing or painting experience is required. Please note that this is a process-based art experience. Minor variations in glitter placement, resin movement, color blending, and handmade details are expected and make each artwork unique. Final pieces may vary slightly from samples shown. At the end of the 4-week series, students will take home a finished artwork designed to display, gift, and enjoy for years to come.
